How to Find the Right Base on RustBases.gg
A quick guide to using filters, search, and sorting to find the perfect Rust base design for your group size and playstyle.
You know what you need — a solo bunker, a trio compound, a cheap starter. The hard part is finding it among hundreds of designs. Here's how to get there fast.
Start with group size
Group size is the most important filter. A base built for eight players won't work solo. The upkeep alone will eat your entire farming session. Start by picking your group size to cut down the results.
- Solo — small, cheap, low upkeep
- Duo — a bit more room, shared farming
- Trio — mid-size, usually with multiple airlocks
- Quad — larger layouts with more space
- Clan — compounds and multi-TC designs
Narrow with footprint
Next, use the footprint filter. A 2x2 is a quick wipe-day starter. A 3x3 gives you more room. Larger sizes like 4x4 work when you have more resources.
Playing solo on a new server? Filter for 2x2 or 2x1 footprints. You want something you can throw down in under ten minutes.
Add features
Features let you find bases with specific design elements:
| Feature | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Bunker | Adds a free layer of protection with no extra upkeep |
| Shooting floor | Defend your base from raiders |
| Open core | Quick access to all loot from one spot |
| Garage | Store vehicles safely |
You can select more than one. Want a bunker base with a shooting floor? Pick both.
Use search
If you know a creator or base by name, use the search bar. It checks video titles and descriptions. Type things like "evil wurst solo" or "bunker 2x2" to find what you want.
Sort your results
Results show the newest videos first. This means you see designs from the current Rust meta. You can also sort by other options to see different results.
Once you find a base you like, save it to a collection so you can find it again on wipe day.
Happy building!
